Giving Tuesday 2022 November 29!
On #givingtuesday, November 29, 2022, make your gift donation to support the mission of SEI Voices for Children. SEI Voices for Children is committed to continuing our impact so that every child victim of abuse/neglect in Ripley County can have a CASA/GAL volunteer in their corner advocating for their best interest for their safety, well-being, and permanent home.
The Children We Serve
Each year SEI Voices for Children serves around 200 abused and neglected children who face the future without a home to call their own. SEI Voices For Children has advocated for 166 children between January 1, 2022, thru October 27, 2022. These children are often placed in foster care, whether with a foster family or a group home. However, many child victims are left in their homes where the abuse occurred. These children have done nothing wrong but are simply victims of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. As reports of abuse and neglect crowd court dockets, more and more children are navigating this confusing system maze.
The Voices for Children Volunteers
Southeastern Indiana Voices for Children, Inc. is helping to make a difference through the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteer program. These volunteers are recruited and trained to advocate for children's best interests inside and outside the courtroom. They work with attorneys, mental health professionals, and service providers to meet the needs of these children and help them find safe, permanent homes. The volunteers are the voice of the children in the court and advocate for the children's best interests. The volunteers use their cars, gas, time, and other resources to advocate for children. We want to provide Gas Cards to our volunteers; however, we rely on donations with limited funds. In a year, a volunteer possibly drives over 12,000 miles.
On this day that encourages hundreds of millions of people to do good, you can help us get to continue our mission when you make your gift.
